Sharon “Sherry” Kaye Nash, 68, passed away Thursday, July 21, 2016 at The Bird House, Hospice Home of Johnson County after a long, courageous battle with cancer.
Memorial service will be held 6:30 P.M. Monday, July 25, 2016 at the Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Branch. A memorial visitation will be held from 4 to 6:30 Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Bird House, Hospice Home of Johnson County or Palliative Care at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
Sherry was born October 20, 1947 in Iowa City, Iowa the daughter of Miles Woodrow “Woody” and Bonita “Bonnie” (Foraker) Millett. She was a graduate of West Branch High School in the Class of 1966 and attended Eastern Iowa Community College. Sherry had lived in Sioux City, Iowa for many years where she had been employed with Siouxland Blood Bank, returning to West Branch in 2012.
She was a member of Sunnybrook Community Church and enjoyed playing cards. She golfed on a women’s league at Brown Deer Golf Course and belonged to a bridge club.
Survivors include three daughters: Stephanie (Aaron) Scholl of Tiffin, Jaime (Tony) Townsend of North Liberty and Lindsay (Mike) Davenport of Overland Park, Kansas, six grandchildren: Anna, Ryan, Burke, Hayden, Emerson and Ella. Sister Nancy (Lauren) Wear of West Liberty, Brother John (Jan) Millett of Cedar Rapids and her faithful companion Gracie. She was preceded in death by her parents.
