Mrs. Keith was one of my favorite teachers during junior high at DHS. Her patience was three-fold as she taught me the infamous New Math. I remember her also as a stylish dresser. My favorite outfit was a gorgeous white dress with yellow and orange flowers and green leaves accessorized with orange shoes and jewelry. She told me in a letter that she had purchased that pair of shoes in Chicago on a trip with Derwood and that they were her favorites. I have hold fond memories of Mrs. Keith. My sympathy and prayers go to Derwood and her family. Cindy Helmold

In 1971-1972 I had the pleasure of teaching with Arlene at the Bennett Schools while my husband was in grad school at the University of Iowa. I taught 6th grade and Arlene taught 5th grade. She certainly was a favorite colleague of mine. Arlene was such a warm, friendly, and supportive lady who was loved by all. I send my sincere sympathy to you.

I am so sorry to learn of Arlene's passing. She & I tried to solve all the world's problems on our trips to Tipton to meet others from the class of 1948, but decided we couldn't, so had to give up on that topic. We never ran out of things to talk about though. She was a good friend & I will miss her, as will all who knew her.

Mrs. Keith was the best teacher that you could ever ask for. The class of 1985 was her last class she had taught at Bennett before she retired. We were probably her most trying group of kids she could have ever had before she retired from teaching. She was such a good person she took the time to write us all personal letters and taped a penny on all our letters, I still have mine. She will be missed. Till we meet again Mrs. Keith
