Iowa City, Iowa Constance “Connie” Ridenour, 67, died Wednesday September 9, 2009 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Funeral services will be held 1 P.M. Saturday at the First Church United in West Liberty. Visitation will be held 1 hour before the service at the church. Burial will in the Oak Ridge Cemetery, West Liberty. A memorial fund has been established. Constance Louise was born December 2, 1941 in Fairfield, Iowa the daughter of John and Elma Miller Ruby. She attended Fairfield schools. In July of 1968 she was united in marriage to Ronald Ridenour. In her early years she had been employed with the University of Iowa Hospital in the laundry department and later operated a daycare out of her home for over 35 years. She loved children, was a very caring person and was always ready to help others. Survivors include her son: Mark Ridenour of Iowa City, daughter: Shawna Ridenour of Iowa City; and granddaugher: Macey Ridenour. Two brothers: Donald (Marilyn) Ruby and John Ruby all of Coralville. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and two brothers Leland and James.
