Jeanette was a wonderful neighbor and a good friend along with the entire family. I miss those days. I also know that she was an exceptional house mother at Rho chapter of Gamma Phi Beta. Not only was she respected and loved by the girls but also by the alumnae chapter women in Cedar Rapids. She was the strength of her family that Thad and Bart know well. We will all miss Jeanette. Bart and Thad- I wish I could be there in person to give you support, a big hug and share in the wonderful life of your mother. I have such warm memories in my heart of the time I was lucky to share with your family. Jeanette was like a mom to me growing up; the advice she shared, the chats around the kitchen table and especially the trip she and Sally made to Florida to spend some time in the sunshine, are all special moments I hold dearly in my heart. My dad, Richard, also wants to share his sympathies as he and Jeanette went to school together in West Branch. They shared many conversations about the Madsen and Kofron families; you can only imagine! I know first hand changing roles with parents is not easy. Bart you should know that your special care of your mom over the last few years, although challenging, will be a blessing to you as the years move forward. It takes a village and you handled her care and being there so lovingly. Curt, the boys are amazing, and I am sorry for your loss. I have such vivid memories of our time in their youth, as David would say, "that girl" when I visited. Such handsome, grown up men, and I know Jeanette had a beautiful and important role in their lives and will be missed greatly. Dad and I will be thinking of you tomorrow, and so wish we could be there to give support and share in your memories. You are in our hearts, and if you need anything, please reach out.
