Dorothy Janet Richards, 68, passed away Saturday, July 18, 2020 at her home in West Branch.
No services are planned. The Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Branch is caring for Dorothy’s family.
Dorothy was born October 23, 1951 in Ames, Iowa the daughter of Myrlin James and Mary Virginia (Ralston) Richards. In 1985 she was united in marriage to Rodney L. Tidrick. She had left Ames in 1970 moving to Iowa City where she lived until 1985 before moving to West Branch.
She had been employed with the SEATS program in Johnson County as a dispatcher/scheduler. Dorothy was an avid gardener and a talented artist.
Survivors include her husband Rodney and step son Josh Tidrick both of West Branch. Three grandchildren: Ryley, Sophie and William. Two sisters: Mary Anne Begg of Boone and Gloria Richards of Iowa City, one brother Tom Richards of Nevada. Preceding her in death were her parents, nephew David Begg, infant brother and sister Lynda.
