Obituary of M. Jane Huggins

West Liberty, Iowa

Jane Huggins, 90, passed away Friday November 16, 2018 at Mercy Hospice in Iowa City.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at the Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Liberty. Visitation will be Monday from 4 to 7 P.M. at the funeral home. Jane was born October 16, 1928 in Davenport, Iowa the daughter of William and Marian Elizabeth (Hern) Jackson. She was a graduate of Davenport High School. Jane was untied in marriage to Stephen Huggins in Valparaiso, Indiana. She had worked as a cook most of her life, in her early years with Grants Restaurant  in Davenport, India Cafe West Liberty, Sky King West Branch before spending many years at NCS at Iowa City. Following her retirement she operated several restaurants and catered for many people.

She is survived by her children: William “Butch” (Katrina) Huggins of Iowa City, Robert Huggins of West Liberty, Tom (Kelly) Huggins of Nichols, Pat Huggins of West Liberty and Nancy (Vernon) Jackson of Rock Falls, Illinois. Grandchildren: Adam Huggins of Iowa City, Brandi (Spencer) Haines of Iowa City and Tony (Mary) Ball of Cedar Rapids. She is also survived by her beloved dog Sophie.

She was preceded in death by her husband Stephen Huggins, son  Michael Huggins, daughter Susan , brothers: Bob Jackson, Sonny Jackson and Don Jackson.
