Yesterday Tom Coffee has sent me the sad news from across the ocean.
I'll always remember Lee with great appreciation and friendship from our days together at work with Louis Rich Foods in West Liberty. Always with smiling face and eyes, over 35 years ago just the same as in the picture above.

Back in the day of floppy disks I remember Lee had to stop by the house to see if his PC had completed a program that he wrote to predict the winners of dog races. The screen was still dark, so he was somewhat disappointed. But I was deeply impressed. Before that day I thought I knew him pretty well. But writing computer programs that brought a PC to its knees??? Obviously I had more to learn. What a guy.

So very sorry to hear that Leroy the gentle giant of River Valley high school Class of 64's passing. I only saw Leroy a couple times after graduation but he was always laughing at something or some one. We were shocked and are so very sad to hear of his passing. The Crook family were neighbors when we all were growing up years ago in Iowa County. They were very good neighbors and my siblings and I were friends with Crook siblings close to each of us in age. Marie was in my class and Donna was also close. LeRoy was the younger brother back then. My husband and I were very sorry to learn of LeRoy's passing.

My brother, Charlie Robb just called to tell me of LeRoy's passing. I was shocked and saddened because I very vidly remember him as a gentle giant. He was ahead of me in high school, but he always treated me with gentle teasing and friendship. I'm will never forget riding around in Albert's Healy and laughing when he would roll out of of it by opening them door and placing his hand on the ground as he unwound and rolled out of the car.
He was big and I was small. As a result, he always seemed protective of me, especially on the football field. I only saw him once after I graduated, but always considered him a good friend and am certain that anyone who knew him felt they same way.
