Nichols, Iowa Gary K. Lenz, 57, died Tuesday May 21, 2013 following a motor vehicle accident hear Nichols. Funeral services will be held 10 A.M. Saturday May 25, 2013 at the Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Liberty. Visitation will be Friday from 4 to 7 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery, Muscatine. Gary was born January 5, 1956 in Iowa City, Iowa the son of Kenneth George and Amanda Marjorie (Keeler) Lenz. He was a graduate of West Liberty High School in 1974 and attended Muscatine Community College where he studied Automotive Mechanics. During high school he was active in F.F.A. and was awarded the Iowa Farmer Degree, was selected to play in the National F.F.A. Band and in 1972 was one of a group who won the State of Iowa Milk Judging Championship. He was married to Jeannette Janney and they later divorced. On June 21, 2008 he was united in marriage to Susan Davis in Nichols. Gary farmed for many years, retiring in 1995. He continued to custom combine and also worked at Nichols Ag. He enjoyed camping, fishing, golf, gardening, farming and spent winters in Texas. Survivors include his wife Susan of Nichols. Three Children: Terra (Joe) VanDusen of West Liberty, Chad Lenz of Muscatine and Matt (Missy) Lenz of Nichols. Brother: Larry (Karen) Lenz of Nichols and Sister: Laurie Lenz of Lone Tree. Two step sons: Doug (Laurie) Boland of Iowa City and Joe (Michelle) Boland of Missoula, Montana. 5 grandchildren: J.J., Taylor, Tracie, A.J. and Alyssa and 5 step grandchildren: Michael, Brianna, Taylor, Kailey, Nathaniel and Megan. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters Pam Husmann and Deanna Lenz.
