West Branch, Iowa Cora F. Pedersen, 84, died Tuesday April 30, 2013at the Crestview Care and Rehab Center in West Branch. Services will be at 2:00PM on Friday, May 3, 2013 at the West Branch United Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 12:00-2:00PM at the church on Friday. Burial will be in the West Branch Cemetery. Cora was born August 7, 1928 in Ainsworth, Iowa, the daughter of Clayton and Lura (Hampton) Eden. She was a graduate of West Branch High School in 1946 and attended Cornell College. Cora then worked at the University of Iowa in the Department of Education. She was united in marriage to Glenn E. Pedersen on February 11, 1949 at the First Methodist Church in Iowa City, Iowa. She worked as a homemaker and farm wife until 1974 when she joined the staff of Herbert Hoover Presidential Library until retirement in 1990. She was a past member and participant in: Springdale Sunflowers 4-H Club, Cedar County Extension Council, Iowa CW T.T.T., United Methodist Churches of Springdale and West Branch and United Methodist Women. In the church, she was involved with teaching Sunday school, playing the organ and singing. Cora also played in bridge clubs and enjoyed researching the family genealogy. Since retiring in 1990, she and her husband spent winter months in Clearwater, Florida, until their health made them discontinue. Survivors include three children: son Randy (Kathy) Pedersen of West Branch, daughter Jane (Bill) Jahnke of Milwaukee, WI, son Russ (Cathy) Pedersen of Kansas City, MO, 9 grandchildren: Kristy, Joshua, Jacob, Aaron, Alyson, Tyler, Andrew, Jack and Darby, and 10 great grandchildren: Skylar, Isabel, Caleb, Noah, Lilah, Rob, Liam, Amelia, Claire and Avery. She was preceded in death by her husband Glenn in 2011 and a brother Wendell Eden.
