Norma P. Yeager, 88, formerly of Atalissa, died Thursday, January 31, 2013 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M. Monday February 4, 2013 at Zion Lutheran Church in Atalissa. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Muscatine. Visitation will be held Sunday from 1 to 3 P.M. at the Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Liberty. Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church. Norma was born December 21, 1924 in Dover, Arkansas the daughter of Odus and Lottie (Carr) Teal. She was a graduate of Russellville, Ark High School. On August 23, 1942 she was united in marriage to James Franklin Yeager. Norma and Frank had worked in the grocery business in Arkansas for several years before moving to Iowa in 1950. She had worked at Sears in Muscatine, Winfield Grocery in West Liberty, owned and operated Yeager Grocery in Atalissa for 13 years and retired from Wilton State Bank where she was a Cashier.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Atalissa, American Legion Auxiliary in West Liberty and was active with the Seniors in Atalissa.
Survivors include one daughter Frankie Jo (Milferd) Moennich of Williamsburg and son-in-law: Fred Harper of Durant. 4 grandchildren: Robert Harper, James Harper, John Harper and Adam Moennich. 9 great grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter: Norma Jean Harper, two sisters: Reba and Audrey and brother: Alvin.
