Marjeane Lynne Easley was born on July 16, 1954 in Jacksonville, NC, the daughter of Margaret Kunkel and Eugene Kunkel. She passed from this life on Wednesday, December 5, 2012 in Payson, AZ having reached the age of 58.
Marjeane was raised in Iowa and graduated from Solon High School in 1972. She attended Sharon Dorans School of Cosmetology graduating with her cosmetology license in 1973. In Iowa, she owned and operated County Line Salon and later changed professions and opened the Olde Tavern General Store in Rochester, Iowa and the East Side Café in West Branch, Iowa.
Marjeane was blessed with 2 daughters, Raejean and Jennifer from her marriage to Ray Slach of West Branch, Iowa. She married Tom Easley September 11, 1997.
Marjeane relocated to Payson, Arizona with Tom in August 1997. While in Payson, Marjeane obtained her realtors license and enjoyed a successful real estate business, most recently working for ERA Young Realty & Investment.
Marjeane was a lively and passionate woman, affectionately described by her 6 brothers as a “firecracker.” She loved her daughters, three grandchildren, her family, and playing music. Marjeane lived her life full of hope and with deep faith.
Marjeane is survived by her daughters, Raejean (Chad) Chapman of Clarion, Iowa and Jennifer (Todd) Walker of Kailua, Hawaii; her three grandchildren, Zachary and Bailey Walker and Kenna Chapman; her parents, Margaret Kunkel of Solon, and Eugene (Dorothy) Kunkel of West Liberty; her six brothers, Greg (Virginia) Kunkel of Solon, Duane (Connie) Kunkel of Solon, Mitch (Ann) Kunkel of Solon, Rodney (Rita) Kunkel of Lakeville, Minnesota, Brian (Laurie) Kunkel of Cave Creek, Arizona, and Brad (Julie) Kunkel of Solon; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A prayer service for the family will be held at 4:00PM on Friday, December 21, 2012 at the Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Branch. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00PM on Friday, December 21, 2012 at the funeral home.
