Myles Douglas Cook, 18, died Friday December 7, 2012 at his home.
Funeral service will be held 3:30 P.M. Monday, December 10, 2012, at the West Liberty Community Center, 1204 North Calhoun Street. Visitation will be held 3 to 8 P.M. Sunday at the Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Liberty. A memorial fund has been established.The family would like to give a special thank you to Iowa City Hospice for the care given to Myles.
Myles was born October 19, 1994 in Savannah, Georgia the son of Mark and Glenda Thompson Cook. He was a graduate of West Liberty High School.
He loved his friends and family. Myles enjoyed playing video games, watching movies, listening to music, drawing, traveling, fishing and his dog Sammy. He was curious and full of knowledge. He didn’t like to be asked questions although he asked many.
Survivors include his parents Mark and Glenda Cook of Nichols, brother Maxx Cook and Mariah Havel of Cedar Falls, Iowa, and sister Makenna Cook of Nichols. Paternal grandmother: Marilyn Cook of West Branch, Iowa, maternal grandparents Victor Thompson of Muscatine and Marjorie Morris of Lone Tree. Uncles: Mike (Laura) Cook of West Branch, Marv (Tracy) Cook of Iowa City. Aunts: Kerri (Larry) Sexton of Lone Tree and Vicki (Larry) Ball of North Carolina. Also surviving are his cousins, friends and the many lives he touched at school.
