West Branch, Iowa Mabel Baker, 88, died Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at the Crestview Nursing and Rehab Center in West Branch. A graveside service will be held at 10:00AM on Friday, October 12, 2012 at St. Joseph Cemetery in Cedar Valley. The Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Branch is in charge of arrangements. Mabel was born February 27, 1924 in Stanwood, Iowa, the daughter of Albert and Hazel Graft Mussig. She was united in marriage to Francis Baker in 1949. Together, they farmed north of West Branch near Plato for many years. Following the death of Francis in 1991, Mabel remained on the farm for a few years and then moved to Crestivew where she made her home. Survivors include her son, Clifford Mussig of Chicago, Illinois; brothers, Laurence (Arline) Mussig of Tacoma, Washington and Jake Mussig of Maquoketa, Iowa and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her extended family at Crestview. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Clarence, and one nephew.
