Lloyd H. VanDusen, 68, died Saturday September 8, 2012 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
Funeral services will be held 10 A.M. Wednesday at the West Liberty Community Center, 1204 North Calhoun Street, West Liberty. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 P.M. Tuesday at the Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Liberty. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery, Wilton. A memorial fund has been established. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.hendersonbarkerfuneralhome.com. A luncheon will be held at the Atalissa Fire Station following the graveside service.
Lloyd Henry VanDusen was born April 1, 1944 in Davenport, Iowa the son of Floyd and Mary Molitor VanDusen. He was a graduate of West Liberty High School in 1962. On April 19, 1964 he was united in marriage to the former Sandra Stewart in Atalissa. Lloyd had been employed with HON in Muscatine for a short time and later with Wendling Quarry in Moscow for 46 years.
He loved watching stock car racing, mowing, fishing and especially following his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife Sandra of Atalissa. 5 Children: Brian (Pam) VanDusen of Atalissa, Neil (Robin) Gaunt of Muscatine, Iowa, Brenda VanDusen of West Liberty, Mindy (Shane) Newsom of Atalissa and Marci VanDusen of Washington, D.C. 9 grandchildren: Kelsy VanDusen (Jeremy Wehmeyer), Brandon VanDusen, Tyler Newsom, Dylan VanDusen, Kane Newsom, Cole Newsom, Neil Gaunt Jr., Jeremy Gaunt and Chelsie Gaunt, 2 great grandchildren: Kace Wehmeyer and Carson VanDusen. 4 brothers: Jim VanDusen of Grandview, Iowa, Walter Russell VanDusen of West Liberty, Joe VanDusen of Atalissa and Donovan VanDusen of Atalissa. 3 sisters: Judy Whittaker of Rancho Cucamonga, CA, Joann Meade of West Liberty and Joan VanDusen of Atalissa. He was preceded in death by his parents.
