Prince Charles Pigsley, 73 formerly of West Liberty died Tuesday April 3, 2012 at Mercy Hospice, Iowa City.
No services are planned. The Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Liberty is in charge of arrangements.
Prince was born July 20, 1938 in Iowa City, the son of Benjamin and Mabel Swolley Pigsley. He was a graduate of West Liberty High School. He had served in the US Army Reserves and the Iowa National Guard. Prince had been employed as a trucker and mechanic for 30 years, later in the security business with ParMar Security and Burns International Security and for the last 6 years as Camp Host of Salisbury Recreation Area near Muscatine. He enjoyed camping, fishing and rodeos. He was a past Assistant Scout Master, Explorer Post Leader and a former member of the Isaac Walton League.
He is survived by one son Michael (Rebecca) Pigsley of Muscatine. 5 grandchildren: Charity, Tiffany, Jeffrey, Anthony and Teressa as well as 5 great grandchildren. Two sisters: Frances (Bill) Henderson of West Liberty and Lyla Halstead of Tipton, Iowa. Two brothers: Harry Pigsley Sr. of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin and Ben Pigsley of Cape Cod Massachusetts. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Tereesa Atkins.
