I did not have the pleasure of ever meeting Mr. Kofoed, but I am truly blessed to have his granddaughter Dana Dauber and her family in my life. Dana will soon become my daughter-in-law and I feel like the luckiest person in the world. I can imagine the integrity Mr. Kofoed had because of how his family was raised. A person with a camera is always looking for the beauty in things and I believe he has passed on that characteristic to those who follow. So for everything you have created Mr. Kofoed, I thank you.

Growing up next to the Kofoeds I spent most of my childhood in your house and yard. Woderful memories. John and Audry have always been very kind and special to all the Quinlans. I will miss yelling ' WOODROW ' when seeing him around town. You two meant more to West Branch than any other couple I know. May you have the peace in God's grace and comfort. I will miss him.

Uncle John. A great family man, a wonderful uncle and the best gosh darn jokester around. I will miss our talks about photography, AND politics. I think the funniest one he did was to send me an opinion from the Wall St. Journal promoting a Republican around election time and he wrote these 5 simple words: "There's still time to convert!"
I share in your grief and look forward to joining you this summer to celebrate his life.
Love, John

So sorry to hear that John has passed away. My grandfather was Frank Kysely and my Dad was William Kysely. John was the 1st banker that I ever had in my life when my Grandpa took me to the bank to open a savings account when I was 7 years old. I took my jar of pennies to the bank and opened up the account and I got my little green book that they wrote how much I had. i was so excited and still have the little book till this day. He was a great man and I am deeply sorry that he is gone. God Bless the whole family.

What a great picture you chose to represent Uncle John! The camera that he loved and the t-shirt that represented family. He was a proud Dane an incredible man who accomplished so much in his life. He was an incredible brother to my mother. Eventhough, he was younger, my mom looked up to him. There close relationship and friendhip allowed us to get togther often and those memories I will never forget. Lasag-na in Iowa City, slide shows in your basement with grasshopper shakes, memories just to name a few. My thoughts are with you and will be forever. I can hear John and Ruth laguhing in heaven..May that spirit guide us through these rough days. Love you all, Karen
