West Branch, Iowa Kellie Lynn Phillips Dykstra, 32, of West Branch, Iowa, died Sunday, March 4, 2012, following an extended illness. A memorial service will be held 12 Noon, Wednesday March 7, 2012 at the Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Branch where a visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the memorial service. Burial will be in the West Branch Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established in Kellie’s name and can be directed to the University of Iowa Community Credit Union. Donations to the Melanoma Research Foundation are also encouraged. Survivors include her husband, Derek; daughter, Lynzi; son, Kellen; her mother, Lynette Macie; brother Nick Macie; sisters Laura and Melissa Phillips; her father; a brother; and many extended family members. Born July 15, 1979, in Iowa City, Kellie also made many close friends while living in Idaho and Utah. Kellie was a devoted mother and was dedicated to educating others about committed and thoughtful parenting. Kellie was a tireless advocate of melanoma awareness and research. She also worked at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
