Barb's Family, I was saddened to learn of Barb's passing. I served with her for over 8 years in the Iowa Air National Guard. We were both assigned to the Services Flight of the 132d Fighter Wing. Though we did not work togehter we were both part of the same team. I remember her as a hard working and dedicated Airman. Our military career's took different paths and when I was promoted to the rank of Master Sergeant I also became her First Sergeant. I was able to continue see Barb on a monthly basis on our drill weekends and she was a pleasure to have in the unit. We deployed together on a couple of different occassions and she was always up to the task at hand and could be counted on to get the job done no matter what it took. You should be proud of her military service and know that although I can not make it to the service that my thoughts and prayers are with her family and many friends at this time of great loss. I hope that her family can find comfort in knowing that Barb was good Airman and that her military family also mourns her passing. Our paths did not cross after her retirement but I will remember her as a friend and someone who always was thinking of her family and of others before herself. Mother's are very special people that is why we only get one...Barb was one of a kind and I'm glad I got to know her. Our heartfelt sympathies to all of Barb's family. I cherish all the great memories at Grandma & Pappy's when we were much younger. I sure miss them.
