West Branch, Iowa Elizabeth “Betty” Rogers, 87, died Thursday, December 26, 2013 at her home in West Branch. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 28, 2013 at the Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Branch. Visitation will begin 1 hour prior to service. Burial will be at the West Branch Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Iowa City Hospice in her name. Elizabeth was born January 4, 1926 in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of Charles and Lucy Vincent Trafford. She was a graduate of West Branch High School. She was united in marriage to Wayne Rogers on January 18, 1947. They farmed together in the West Branch area. Elizabeth also worked as an operator for the West Branch Telephone Company for a period of time. She was a member of the West Branch Friends Church and the County Line Club. Elizabeth enjoyed reading, sewing, crocheting, gardening, crafts, playing board games and cards, and just being at home. She was a loving housewife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived by her children: Charles Rogers of Yellville, Arkansas, Carolyn Meisner of West Branch and Glenn (Mary Marichalar) Rogers of Iowa City; grandchildren: Katherine of San Antonio, Texas, Jonathan of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Gara of Iowa City, Karie of Moscow, Iowa, Chad of Tipton, Mike of West Branch, Julia of Sacramento, California and Jennifer of Muscatine. She is also survived by seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Wayne, son Phillip and grandson Curtis.
