It is with a heavy heart that I send all of you my sympathy. I have not seen or talked to Johnna for more that 25 years. I have only made it to a couple of our class reunions, which I don't remember seeing Johnna at those either. To be honest I did not know she had married or had any children. For this I am sorry. I also graduated in 1982 from Davis County High School. Johnna and I had been friends and she had spent a few nights at my house when we were in junior high and if my memory serves me right I spent a few at her house too. It is a terrible tragedy that a mother and a son who still had a lot of memories to create have been taken from all of you. I hope through all of this, that as you look back at your time with Johnna and Nikita that you remember them as fondly as I do Johnna. We always had a lot of fun and she had the biggest heart as we were growing up. I will always be glad that this women was a part of my life.
Sincerely and With my Deepest Sympathy

Dear Johnna-
What a great friend and co-worker you are! I've enjoyed working with you in the school kitchen and listening to all of your stories: kids, McDonalds, life. And thank you for listening to all of my stories: kids, Hallmark cards, life. You have a wisdom that is beyond your years!
It is my honor and privilege to have known you!
Love, Karen
P.S. I will miss your laugh!

I was one of Johnna's close childhood friends growing up in Bloomfield. I have countless fond memories of playing with Johnna. We had lots of fun playing outside in the country, riding poines to the ponds and then swimming, playing in the fort we built in the pasture, working on 4-H projects together and spending the night at each other houses. We had the best childhood.
I am so sorry that your life and your son's was taken away too soon.
My deepest sympathy to your family.

Johnna and I have been friends since 6th grade. We lived together during college and after, we worked together, we shared all our ups and downs. We ended up buying houses only 10 mins away from each other. Johnna was the best kind of friend to have. She was endlessly patient, generous, and had a wicked sense of humor. She worked very hard for her kids, and their future. I have lost a friendship of 30+ years that I thought would last at least that much longer.
Such a senseless act affects so many.
My deepest sympathies to her family and especially Tuesday.

To the Family of Johnna and Nikita,
I am truly sorry for your loss. Johnna and I were childhood friends growing up in Bloomfield, IA. We were always ridding ponies, going to 4H meetings, swimming in the ponds, playing in the creek, making forts, and just hanging out being kids, living in the country.
My thoughts are with you.
