Mildred Helen Ruess passed away on February 22, 2008, in Eureka, California. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Church in West Liberty on Thursday, February 28th.
Millie was born on December 1, 1917, to Al and Lucy Neppl in Gregory, South Dakota. She taught school for several years before moving to West Liberty where she married Edwin Ruess on June16, 1941.
She was Director of Religious Education for St. Joseph's parish for many years and enjoyed teaching the Catholic faith to the local children of the parish.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin in 1968, and is survived by her children: Bernadette, Joanne, Patricia, Marilyn, Thomas, Bernard, Dolores and Margo. She also has 18 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Millie previously lived in Cedar Rapids, Iowa for several years. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who will be greatly missed.
