Dorothy T. Wuestenberg died May 17 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City from complications of congestive heart failure. She was born September 19, 1912 in West Liberty, Iowa to Carl R. and Myrtle Meredith Templeman. She attended the West Liberty Public Schools and was a member of the graduating class of 1930. In October 1931 she married Howard L. Hetherington in Sterling, IL. They later divorced and in 1951 she married Ray Wuestenberg in West Liberty. Dorothy lived her entire life in West Liberty; in her later years, she once remarked that all her years had been lived in West Liberty and she couldn’t imagine ever leaving it! In her younger life, she was employed for nine years as a teller at the West Liberty State Bank; otherwise her entire career was as a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Harold, her daughter Elizabeth and two step children, Wayne Wuestenberg and Jean Dannerberger. She is survived by her son William Hetherington of Austin, TX, stepdaughter Marilyn Largent of Cohasset, MA, her grandson Thomas W. Hetherington of Cedar Park, TX and two great grandchildren Benjamin and Susan Hetherington. Funeral services will be held at 10:30AM on Monday, May 24, 2010 at the West Liberty United Methodist Church. Visitation will be 4:00-6:00PM on Sunday, May 23, 2010 at the Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Liberty. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery in West Liberty.
