Bonnie Helen Hollenbeck, 87, of Muscatine, died Saturday, May 15, 2010 at the All-American Care Facility in Muscatine.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM, with visitation one hour before the service, on Thursday, May 20, 2010 at the Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Liberty. The funeral will be conducted by Rev. Barbara Krueger with inurnment at the Nichols cemetery. A lunch and get-together will follow at the home of Leo and Liz Hollenbeck 1601 Grand Avenue in Muscatine.
Bonnie was born February 22, 1923 in a farm house in Cedar County close to West Liberty, to Donald and Edith (Lehman) Morrison
After graduating from West Liberty High School she worked at Huttig in Muscatine and then taught country school at the Pike School, south of Nichols.
She married Leo Hollenbeck, February 22, 1946. They farmed for several years in Nichols and Letts. She enjoyed traveling, reading, gardening, playing cards, playing with her grandchildren and all the good times she had with her family and friends.
She is survived by her 2 children: Leo (Liz) Hollenbeck and Jane Hollenbeck and her fiancé Craig Curry all of Muscatine, 3 grandsons: Darin (Dana) Hollenbeck, Brian Hollenbeck, and Jon (Gayla) Stepanek, 2 great granddaughters: Brandi Westfall-Stepanek and Emma Hollenbeck, all of Muscatine. She is also survived by one brother: Charles (Carlene) Morrison of Letts, 2 brother-in-laws: Gayle (Joyce) Hollenbeck of Atalissa and Virgil (Gina) Hollenbeck of Muscatine.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, her husband Leo, a sister Fern Krueger, a brother Ralph Morrison and a grandson Jodi Stepanek.
