Barbara Ann Swenson, age 65, passed away on October 16th at her home in Manassas, VA with her family by her side. Barb was born on June 20, 1950 in Iowa City, Iowa to Gene and Dorothy Brugman. She completed her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education at the University of Iowa, received her MBA from Indiana State University, and was a Certified Public Account. Barb was a loving mother and wife, an ardent weaver, knitter, gardener, an excellent cook, and had a laugh that filled any room with joy. Survivors include Barb’s husband Alan Swenson of Manassas, VA, son Brian and wife Laura of Washington, DC, son Eric of Manassas, sister Bonnie Steinhoff of Alameda, California, and brother Bob Brugman of North Liberty, Iowa. Barb is preceded in death by her parents Gene and Dorothy Brugman of Iowa. Funeral mass will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Nichols, Iowa on October 24th at10 AM. Visitation will be held Friday 5 to 8 P.M. at the Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Liberty. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
