Obituary of Donna J. Jehle

Donna J. Jehle, 92, of Durant passed away Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at Grand Haven Retirement Community in Eldridge, Iowa.

Donna was born May 31, 1932 in Atalissa, Iowa the daughter of Carl and Elsie (Gatzke) Phillips. She was a graduate of Atalissa High School. On January 22, 1951, she was united in marriage to Earl “Bob” Jehle in Iowa City.

She was employed with the Stockton Elevator for several years before her long career with Ron Alpen Ford.

Donna was a dedicated member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Durant. She and her husband, Bob, cherished their summers at their cabin on the Cedar River, creating lasting memories with family and friends. A gifted musician, Donna found happiness in playing the piano and organ, as well as in singing. She was also a passionate Iowa Hawkeye fan.

She is survived by her three children:  Sue Alpen and her significant other Terry Boydstun of Eldridge, IA, Steve and his wife Janis Jehle of Cedar Falls, IA and Scott and his wife Darcie Jehle of Durant, IA, 5 grandchildren: Nicole and her husband Brad Ward of Eldridge, IA, Chelsea and her husband Spencer Steffy of Cedar Falls, IA, Elsa and her husband Cody Vry of Cedar Falls, IA, Drake Jehle of Atalissa, IA, and Kennedy Jehle of Durant, IA, 9 great-grandchildren: Payton Dieckman, Lexi and Parker Ward of Eldridge, IA, Berkley, Braxton and Hattie Steffy of Cedar Falls, IA, Lillie, Brooke and McKenna Vry of Cedar Falls, IA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bob in 2011, siblings: Audrey, Dalton, Ruth and Delbert.
