I am so sorry for the loss of Derwood. He and Arlene and my parents, Barb and Berdette Bryngelson, were long time friends through the Masons and I got to know them both through their friendship. He will be surely missed as is Arlene. Prayers for comfort for all the family and friends.
I wanted to let Derwood's family know that I am sorry for your loss. It looks like he lived a full life. I never met Derwood, but I remember my brother's Charlie and Otto talking about him. My brother Charlie was involved with the FFA in Wilton in the early 60's and probably had Derwood as a teacher. As well as my brother Otto, who is also involved in the Masons.
I remember so well when Derwood and Arlene attended our chapter meetings in Iowa City. What a great asset to our Order, they were truly cherished members. Thoughts and prayers to their families.
What a great man! We have many good memories with him in Eastern Star. WE looked up to him in our Chapter. His smile was infectious. His mannerisms were to be admired . Now he is with the Love of his life. Rest in Peace Brother Derwood.

We will miss Derwood. We can’t begin to tell you how much Derwood and Arlene meant to us. We had so much fun working together at the flower shop after we bought it from them. There is not enough space here to share all the stories that we have with them.
They were always there to give us advice and support. We continued with our friendship over the years and felt like part of their family.
We loved them dearly. We can now think of them together again in each other’s arms. Rest in peace, our dear friends. Job well done.
Our sympathy to the family. Derwood was a teacher when we attended Wilton High School and was a sponsor for our class of 1968. He and Arlene were also in Eastern Star with me. A good man.
