Obituary of Jeanne E Staley
Jeanne Elizabeth Staley, 73, of Nichols, died April 3, 2024 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics after a sudden cardiac illness.
Jeanne was born May 5, 1950 in West Liberty, Iowa to William and Virginia (Sexton) Anderson. She graduated from West Liberty High School in 1968. On January 16, 1970 Jeanne was united in marriage to Larry Staley.
Jeanne lived most of her life on the family farm in the South Prairie community southeast of West Liberty until her move to Nichols. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, movies, bowling, traveling, and playing cards. As a lifelong bowler, Jeanne attended numerous local, state, regional and national tournaments as well as holding local and state USBC offices. Jeanne was the secretary of the Nichols Methodist Church as well as a library assistant for the Lone Tree Community Library.
Jeanne will be deeply missed by her children: Kelly (Staley) Loving and her husband Tony, and Keri Staley, all from Nichols; Six grandchildren: Tina Dunn and her husband Pat, Jimmie Staley and his wife Rachel, Zak Loving and his wife Nichelle, Skylar (Loving) Kline and her husband Grant, Mackenzie Marshall, and Sam Loving; Numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents (2002, 2003) and her husband (2017).
Visitation and fellowship will be at the Nichols Methodist Church on Saturday, April 27, 2024 from 11am to 2 pm with a prayer service at 11am. Memorials can be made to the Nichols Methodist Church and Nichols First Responders.
