Obituary of Donna Jean Tucker
Donna Jean Tucker, 86, passed away Tuesday, October 31, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family.
Funeral mass will be held 10 A.M. Saturday, November 4, 2023 at St. Bernadette Catholic Church in West Branch. Visitation will be Friday from 4 to 7 P.M. at the Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Branch. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Cedar Valley. In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to Iowa City Hospice or American Cancer Society.
Donna was born March 8, 1937 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa the daughter of Arthur “John” Richard and Violet Dorothy (Nedrow) Petrusch. She was a graduate of Marion High School in 1955.
On June 20, 1959 she was united in marriage to Harold Tucker in Marion, Iowa spending 53 years together until his death in 2012. For 6 years she had worked at Inter Ocean Reinsurance Company, later Crestview Care Center for a short time and together with Harold farmed for many years.
She was a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church, young mothers club, self culture club and card club once a month which was a “night out”. Donna enjoyed collecting milk and depression glass, gardening, fishing and spending time at Tucker’s Pond which was established in 1993, but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with family and attending her kids, grandchildren and great grandchildren’s activities.
Survivors include her five children: Greg (Faye) Tucker, Brian (Marj) Tucker, Jason (Lori) Tucker, Julie Tucker and Beth (Bob) Dingbaum all of West Branch. 15 Grandchildren: Michael (Krista) Tucker, Monica (Jarod) Tylee, Elizabeth (Martin) Roper, Jamie Tucker, Erin (Kyle) Berg, Josh (Melissa) Tucker, Katie (Aaron) Bartenhagen, Matthew (Calsee) Tucker, Nevin (Mayzie) Tucker, Garrett (Emily) Tucker, Lauren (Ryan) Bowers, Logan (Jayme) Cilek, Leah Cilek, Aiden Dingbaum and Asa Dingbaum. 26 great grandchildren and one on the way. Sister: Joan Hay of Coralville and many nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, Husband Harold, and a granddaughter Nicole Tucker.
