Obituary of Carolyn Eva Hinty
Carolyn Eva (Eves) Hinty, 95, passed away Monday, July 10th at 8:04am at Westridge Specialty Care in Knoxville, Iowa.
Visitation will be held Friday 10:00 to 11 A.M. July 14, 2023 at the Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Branch with the funeral service to be held immediately following at 11 A.M.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Carolyn Hinty Memorial Fund.
Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery, Tipton, Iowa.
Carolyn was born July 13, 1927 on a farm South of Tipton, IA to Herald and Adeline (Lorenzen) Eves. She started at Hebron school till 8th grade. She was a graduate of Springdale High school in the class of 1945. After graduation, Carolyn attended Iowa City Business College from 1946-1947. She then moved to Tipton and worked for CS Miller Abstract and Insurance.
On November 6, 1949, she was United in marriage to Richard “Tink” Hinty in Tipton, IA. They celebrated 68 years together. Carolyn worked for Selective Service for 30 years.
Carolyn was a member of Springdale United Methodist and was a 50-year member of Jessamine Chapter No 135 OES. Carolyn enjoyed church functions, gardening, her flower beds, and feeding the birds. Carolyn was an avid photographer, especially of family. Carolyn was a beloved neighbor to many and enjoyed participating in Springdale festivities.
Carolyn is survived by one daughter: Connie Pace (Jim Kruzic), Pleasantville, IA. Two grandchildren: Jessica (Luke) Whitney, Seymour, IA, and Seth (Lindsey) Pace, Huxley, IA. Two great granddaughters: Ava Grace and Ella Raye Whitney. Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband: Richard “Tink” Hinty, her parents, two brothers, and sister: Eugene Eves, Tipton, IA and Kenny Eves, Davenport, IA, and Betty Baker, Marshfield, WI.
Carolyn found immense comfort and hope in the symbolism of doves. Carolyn’s family hopes you will think of her fondly the next time you see a dove.
