Darlene Lenz, 90, passed away Friday, July 7, 2023 at the Simpson Memorial Home in West Liberty.

Funeral service will be held 10:30 A.M. Thursday, July 13, 2023 at the United Methodist Church, West Liberty. Visitation will be Wednesday 4 to 7 P.M. at the Henderson-Barker Funeral Home, West Liberty.  Burial will be in the Oak Ridge Cemetery, West Liberty.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Darlene Lenz Memorial Fund.

Darlene was born March 9, 1933 in Scott County, Iowa the daughter of Herbert and Hertha (Wulf) Telsrow. She was a graduate of            Durant High School in the Class of 1951. On August 16, 1953 she was united in marriage to Leonard Lenz at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Davenport. Leonard and Darlene farmed for many years in Muscatine County.

She was a past 4H leader, started the Muscatine County 4H rabbit club, and served as a superintendant at the Muscatine County Fair in the canned goods department.  She enjoyed her grandchildren, camping and crafts. Darlene and  Leonard spent 19 winters in Texas.

Survivors include her three children Jean (Brian) Brockert of Muscatine, Joan (Bruce) Grady of Muscatine and Bryan (Jean) Lenz of West Liberty and a sister Marilyn Sorensen of Durant. Seven grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband, brother Darold.
