RIP Uncle Whitey, I'll see you in heaven. You were a really nice man, that made delicious oysters each year for Thanksgiving. You were a likable, kind addition to family gatherings and I can't think of a flaw! Thank you for all the good years of being a part of our lives.

We were so sorry to hear of Jeff's passing, and will keep his family in our prayers. He was always at church, and he was so delighted when I teased him about being a great grandpa, he loved this little girl. Nancy and Ruth, were always sitting with him in church, and such a nice family. God Bless all of you.

The family of Lila Jean Murphy (and me, Sara) wish to say that we are thinking of Whitey's family during this difficult time. I, of course, remember Jeff from high school. He was always a kind gentleman to my mother as well, remembering her with Nancy's delightful fudge during the holidays. Lila Jean knew his mother, Patty, as young girls in West Branch when Lila visited there from Iowa City. I, Sara , always gassed up at his gas station in West Branch on my multiple forays into Iowa from Illinois with my family. He was our friend and a terrific ambassador for West Branch. We will miss him.

I enjoyed working with Whitey. I remember when he had a sign made to put on his desk, it said “25 words or less.” We all got a kick out of it! He was a great guy and will be missed.
