Obituary of Donald Dean Waters

Donald Dean Waters, 72 of Des Moines, Iowa passed away suddenly Saturday, June 24, 2023 at MercyOne Medical Center, Des Moines.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, June 30, 2023 at the Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Branch with visitation 1 hour prior to service time.

Don was born August 8, 1950 in Iowa City the son of Leslie and Lucille Wilcox Waters. He attended West Branch High School. Don served in the US Army as a mechanic. He has resided in Des Moines for many years. He was united in marriage to the former Heidi Vilumzemis. Don enjoyed cars, and tinkering/making repairs to them.

He is survived by two children: Jacob Waters and Michelle Brookman, four grandchildren: Ryder Waters, Brittany (Brian) Tucker, Jacob Brookman and Sarah Brookman, two great grandchildren: Savannah and Caleb Tucker. Two brothers: Raymond (Carol) Waters and Kenneth (Debra) Waters, sister in law: Corrine Waters. Several nieces and nephews also survive.  He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Heidi, daughter: Rachel Waters, three brothers: Gerald, Charles and his twin brother Ronald.
