Obituary of Judith A. Denkman
Judith A. (Judy) Denkman, 86, of West Liberty, IA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 23 at Simpson Memorial Home in West Liberty, IA surrounded by family.
A funeral service will be held 11:30 A.M. at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in West Liberty, IA on Saturday, May 27, 2023. Visitation will be held prior to the service at the church from 9:30 until 11:30. Burial will be in the Oak Ridge Cemetery in West Liberty.

Judy was born on March 9, 1937 to Otto and Laverne (Dierks) Meyer in Clinton, IA. She graduated from Clinton High School in 1955. She married Eugene (Sonny) McDonald on September 30, 1955. After Eugene’s passing, she married Dale Denkman of Atalissa, IA on July 18, 1970.
Judy spent most of her days as a homemaker, although she did work a little at the Artist Colony in Iowa City and Jan’s Flower Yard in West Liberty. She also worked alongside Dale on the family farm east of West Liberty. She was a long time member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in West Liberty and a member of the Our Redeemer Lutheran Church Women’s Group. She enjoyed crafting, creating flower arrangements for the Muscatine County Fair, traveling, fishing, and spending time with family and friends.
Judy will be dearly missed by her husband Dale of West Liberty, son Keith (Tammy) McDonald of West Liberty, son Terry (Sandy) McDonald of Coralville, son Chuck McDonald of Cedar Rapids, daughter Karen (Scott) Brincks of Richmond, VA, 11 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, sister Myrna (Gary) Gifford of Clinton, IA and numerous nieces and nephews.
Judy was preceded in death by her dad Otto Meyer, her mom Laverne Myers, her daughter Cherri McDonald, and step-dad Harold Myers.
