I had the privilege of working with Rhonda at the University of Iowa hospital, and yes, it truly was a privilege. She was an excellent nurse and vastly experienced. I learned so much about nursing practices from her. Rhonda also demonstrated the other aspects of nursing, each of her patients and their families received kindness, comfort, patience and caring. I also had the privilege of calling Rhonda a friend. I will miss her and think of her often. You fought the big fight these last few years with class and determination Rhonda, so now, my friend, you can rest. Love you girl!

In the summer of 1977, I had secured a summer job at Lassen Volcanic National Park in Northern California. At the tim, Dan and Rhonda were living in Sparks, NV. Being lonely and a long way from home, I spent nearly every weekend with them and they welcomed me into their home. It gave great comfort to a young college boy a long way from home. For this, I will always be eternally grateful to the Swansons. Rhonda will always hold a special place in my heart. Please accept my deepest sympathy for the loss of your loved one.
