To Helen's family - I had the pleasure of meeting Helen when she lived at Stoney Point Meadows while I was working there. I immediately fell in love with Helen. She was sharp, funny, kind, no ones' fool, and could play a great hand of euchre. I so enjoyed talking with Helen and learning about her amazing life and equally amazing family. She always talked so proudly of you all! I enjoyed daily visits with Helen and weekly games of euchre. One of my favorite memories is decorating cookies with her at Christmas time. She had grandkids coming and wanted to have treats for them. I don't remember exactly why the baking of the cookies got cancelled (my kids and I were coming to bake them with her), but we made them at home and I brought all the things needed to decorate them. I came to her apartment after work and we enjoyed a glass of wine and decorated cookies together! It was certainly the highlight of my holiday season!! After I left Stoney Point Meadows, Helen and I stayed in touch through cards and visits, even through the window during Covid (and the sun was just so that she couldn't see me unless my face was right up against the window - we had a good laugh).
Helen was a remarkable person and I feel so privileged that our lives crossed paths. I so wish I could been there with you to celebrate her life. She touched my heart and she will always remain there. Helen certainly had a life well lived, may those memories bring you comfort.
