West Liberty, Iowa Joyce Marie Parizek, 73, died Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at the Simpson Memorial Home in West Liberty. Funerals services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, June 23, 2014 at the West Liberty Community Center. Visitation will be 2:00 -5:00 PM on Sunday, June 22, 2014 at the Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Liberty. Burial will be at North Prairie Cemetery in West Liberty. Memorials may be made to the Simpson Memorial Home or Iowa City Hospice. Joyce was born December 25, 1940 in Iowa City, the daughter of Roy and Phyllis Embree Rossmann. She graduated from West Liberty High School in 1959 and then the Paris Academy of Beauty Culture in 1960. She was united in marriage to Gilbert Parizek on February 15, 1969 in West Liberty. Joyce was a hairdresser in the West Liberty area for many years. She was a member of the West Liberty American Legion Auxiliary and the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. Joyce loved to make crafts as well as baby blankets for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed camping and traveling around the United States, making it to all but two states. After Gilbert retired, he and Joyce spent 17 winters in Texas. She is survived by her husband Gilbert, sons: Mike (Tracy) Parizek, Tim (Jaime) Parizek, Steve (Deb) Parizek and Kirt Parizek, all of West Liberty; grandchildren: Jessica Parizek, Lucas (Jill) Parizek, Ashley (Bernard) Gatlin, Brent Parizek, Riley Parizek, Emma Parizek; Tony (Veronica) Clark, Vic (Brenda) Clark, and Cody Krenz (and his friend Judy) and great grandchildren: Ava Gatlin, and Treyden and Amzie Parizek, Gage, Blake, and Cashe Clark and Brody and Kameron Kilburn . She is also survived by her brothers: Richard Rossman of Preston, Iowa, and Duane (Carol) Rossman of Otho, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Jerry, infant sister Betty and grandson Mitch.
