I got to know Jerry in the Ag Chemical business while working at Sandoz. Will never forget the National Sales Meeting where everyone in sales received the e-mail from corporate requiring blue business suits for the regional picture taking. Jerry missed the part where blue was required color and wore brown.
Jerry was a great friend to me and my family. He had a big smile and heart to match. I will miss him. May God bless he and his family.

Jerry and I became friends in 1966 in Fallon, NV where we were serving in the US Navy. He was a super honest guy and we remained in contact for all these years I talked with Jerry by phone not long ago in South Padre. I'm very saddened to loose an old friend and the last Navy buddy who had remained in contact with me.

Uncle Jerry made an impression on everybody he met. I spent so much of my childhood with his family and still remember many of his jokes and, of course, his big smile. He followed his heart and lived life on his terms. I will forever be grateful that he and Janet gave us two of the most wonderful people in the world.

To Dave Fitzgerald and to Jerry's Friends Everywhere: My heartfelt thanks to all of you for your friendship and kindness to brother Jerry over the years. He was such a good guy with a heart as big as all outdoors and he loved everyone. Jerry's greatest gifts to us were his two children, Peter and Megan. They are wonderful in every way and I am immensely proud of them! Jerry could be a handful at times when we siblings wondered what to do with him...now we wonder what we'll ever do without him. He was a free spirit who landed where the winds took him. They've now taken him to his heavenly home where he can rest in peace at last. You will be missed little brother.

Jerry has been a part of my life for maybe 45 years. Sometimes we might not talk for months and other times we lived in the same house for months. He loved to laugh, tell stories and do ornery mischief. There are thankfully far too many stories to share here. The fun started in Ames when in college together. Once, without being very familiar with Jimmy Buffett, jerry and Janet agreed to go to a concert at Alpine Valley. It happened to be the rainiest day of all history. We watched the outdoor concert with Panchos on and when Jer got tired or wet or both he curled up in his poncho on the ground and slept. We got stuck in the mud trying to leave the grounds and I and especially Janet got splattered with mud pushing the car as Jerry drove. He had a huge heart, loved his family and friends and wanted to do good with his life. I don't think I would ever say he was subtle and at times i thought he lacked good taste, but I believe his heart was huge and that loving heart drove his life. I lioved him and miss him already.

Jerry, So many memories over the last 30 years. One of the best was when you joined with me and 40 some other Rotarians from western Arizona to go to Caborca, Mexico to give polio immunizations to children. Always mindful of our blessings, you were always thinking of the poor, downtrodden and less fortunate. After the days in the ag chemicals business together, I'm so glad we kept in touch and were able to see one another occasionally. You enriched my life by being a great friend and being who you are. Rest in Peace, my Friend and may God Bless your family.

So very sorry to hear about Jerry and my sympathy to his family. I went to St. John's School with him saw him at our last class reunion in Independence.I especially remember him because he and his family would often times invite his classmates out to his farm for a hayride in the fall and we had so much fun. He will be missed.
