Death Certificates
A Certified Death Certificate is often necessary before anything can be done. Certified copies of the death certificate can be obtained through a Funeral Director or obtained through any county recorder in Iowa. The fee for a certified copy of the death certificate is $20.00. It is a good idea to get an idea of how many copies of a death certificate will be needed. Most agencies require a certified certificate and not a photocopy.
